WE'RE HIRING A JUNIOR DESIGNER

About The Position

DSM is actively seeking to fill the role of Junior Designer in the creative department. We are looking for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and collaborates well when working with a varied group of peers. This role will report directly to the Art Director and will be expected to work cooperatively and productively with all others at DSM. We expect to fill this role within one week of the acceptance.


Overview

  • Represent yourself and DSM in a positive way, when you’re at work and when you’re not.
  • Interact with clients via phone, email and face-to-face meetings.
  • Attend networking, talent recruiting, fundraisers and other special events that are critical to the growth of DSM.
  • Assist in recruiting, interviewing and training other team members.
  • Assist in the growth of DSM by contributing to our marketing, advertising, public relations and sales initiatives.
  • Be open and flexible to the changing needs of the business. As this industry changes, we expect that your roles and responsibilities will always be evolving to provide more value for our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Generate clear ideas and concepts in collaboration with the creative team and others as they may need it.
  • Understand marketing initiatives, strategic positioning and target audience of all clients.
  • Cooperate with the entire DSM team to collaborate on all initiatives.
  • Take work from concept to final execution within deadlines.
  • Manage and delegate responsibilities to other designers and provide direction as needed.
  • Present completed ideas to clients/team members.
  • Stay on top of all trends and maintain best practices.

Requirements

  • Proven working experience in relevant industry.
  • Hands on experience with logo design, typography, color theory, web layout design, print production, image selection and package design.
  • Proficient use of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator or other visual design and wire-framing tools.
  • Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio.
  • Incorporate feedback and take/give direction well.
  • Team player with strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Relevant education or training.
